On March 13, 2017 at approximately 9:37 p.m. LVMPD patrol officers were dispatched to a residence located in the 8500 block of Copper Knoll Avenue to investigate reports of a possible gunshot and a person on the ground in the backyard of the house. Arriving officers located a female in the backyard of the house, deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.
The investigation initiated by the LVMPD Homicide Section indicated the victim arrived in her vehicle, parked across the street from the vacant residence, and entered the backyard through a side gate. After the shot was heard, one male was seen jumping the back wall of the residence into a neighbor’s yard. A different male was picked up by a newer silver Nissan 4-door sedan in the 8600 block of Copper Knoll Avenue. The suspects could only be described as unknown race males, one wearing a white hoodie and one wearing a dark hoodie.
This is the 30th homicide investigated by the LVMPD in 2017. The identity of the victim, as well as the cause and manner of death, will be released by the Clark County Coroner’s Office. As of this release, the suspects have not been identified and the motive is unknown.
